National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI has a national organization as well as state organizations and local affiliates in more than 1,100 communities across the country.

Through the dedicated efforts of grassroots leaders, NAMI focuses on three cornerstones of activity that offer hope, reform and health: Support, Education and Advocacy.
Episcopal Mental Illness Network
The Episcopal Mental Illness Network has as its mission "To seek out and support, through prayer and action, consumers, families and/or service providers in the Episcopal Church whose lives are affected by major psychiatric disorders; to help Episcopalians, clergy and laypersons, become aware of the nature of these illnesses and the special needs and gifts of those affected, and to reduce the stigma and misconceptions that prevail and to remove those barriers which frequently prevent persons with psychiatric illnesses and their families from participating in the full life of the Church.

On their website is a section "Take Action!" which includes helpful ideas for the local congregation becoming involved.
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance has as its mission "to improve the lives of people living with mood disorders." There are on-line screening tools for mood disorders, and there is help for beginning support groups. Brochures are available free of charge and cover topics such as "Psychotherapy: How it Works and How It Helps," "Finding a Mental Health Professional: A Personal Guide" and "Psychiatric Hospitalization: A Guide for Families."
Faithful Living, Faithful Dying: Anglican Reflections on End of Life Care
In light of the recent media focus on the end of life, it's important to remind ourselves and our congregations of what our church has to say about end-of-life issues and prolongation of life.
Planning Ahead - Advance Directives
Planning ahead is about preparing for the future today. Communicating your end-of-life wishes to your loved ones, appointing a healthcare power of attorney, and addressing financial issues such as wills and paying for long-term care are just a few of the issues you can address today to plan ahead. There is also a link to state-specific advance directives.
