Each week, we will highlight stories from our newfeed on Prismatic. No account is required to see what we think is worth reading, so visit our profile often! We update it daily so there is usually something new to check out. Here is a sample of what we liked this week:

Prayer at the Funeral of Someone Who Committed Suicide via Huffington Post
No prayers are adequate. In truth, there are no words for such a situation. And so we -- clergy, friends, and loved ones -- usually think, "What am I supposed to say?" Because there is no such prayer in my prayer book for this situation, I composed the following out of desperation. After all, prayers are the words we say when we have no words.

Fathering With Intentionality: The Importance of Creating a Family Culture via The Art of Manliness
I want to create a close-knit, fun-loving family and raise children with upstanding character. So I’ve asked the parents of the families I admire what their “secret” is to creating such a tight family bond. They all pretty much say the same thing: They’re intentional about creating and fostering a positive family culture.

Earth and all stars via Episcopal Cafe
Our Psalm today is a reminder that joyful noise is just as important as being still and knowing God--it's more about finding the balance of the two than it is choosing one over the other. In fact, it's probably sinful to keep some of deafening awesome-ness of God quiet and to ourselves.

Team Red Cross: New Mobile App to Volunteer on Emergency Responses via Headlines & Global News
A new mobile volunteer app called Team Red Cross was recently launched to give people an easier way to extend help during emergencies and also learn valuable skills in giving an emergency response. Through this app, users can sign up to volunteer, get the gist of the basic tasks required, receive alerts and notifications whenever an opportunity to volunteer comes up, and earn badges as reward for every skill they have acquired.

How Much Water Should You Drink Every Day? via WebMD
The easiest way to know if you’re drinking enough fluid is to look at the color of your urine. If you’re drinking enough water, your urine will be clear or pale yellow. A darker yellow means you aren’t drinking enough water.

The Obamacare Plot Twist via The Atlantic
It will demonstrate that collective action is not just desirable for optimal collective outcomes; it is essential. Fight all you want to prevent laws you dislike from passing; work all you wish to amend laws that have passed; but once those laws exist and have been validated, work together to implement them. Sounds oddly naïve in today's jaded world, but it's the only way forward.

<h1><a href="/blog/new-release-red-cross-volunteer-app">New Release: Red Cross Volunteer App!</a></h1>

This is a perfect example of why we are using our new social media platform, Prismatic. It helps us find stories from around the web that we may have overlooked, despite our best efforts. For instance, this morning we found a new app from the Red Cross making it easier to volunteer with them in times of need. Read more about it below.

We also put the link to this Red Cross app in our Media section, which highlights interesting blogs and social media related to health and wellness. If you haven't browsed there yet, you should check it out now. There are some fun and interesting links there.

Team Red Cross wants you! Join Team Red Cross to help provide care and comfort to your local community when the unthinkable occurs.

Each year, more than one million Americans volunteer with the Red Cross. These volunteers assist victims of fires, floods, storms, and other disasters. The more severe the disaster, the more volunteers we need--sometimes at a moment’s notice.

Everyone has something special to offer...including you. Team Red Cross is looking for people with various backgrounds, talents, and skill levels. Make a difference, support your community and join Team Red Cross!

Features:

  • Be available to help with disaster assessment, feeding, bulk distribution, in a shelter or other important work to help those in need.
  • Get “briefed” on volunteer jobs via simple steps, short videos and quizzes—before you ever show up to help.
  • Receive and respond to notifications for volunteer jobs based on your location
  • Share volunteer opportunities with friends in your social network
  • Earn digital “badges” for a variety of activities (accepting a job, completing a job, sharing the app, recruiting volunteers, etc.)and share them with your social network!
  • Get connected with other Team Red Cross members and view their Red Cross activities

We invite you to join a free webinar on Wednesday, July 24th from 2-3pm Eastern for an interactive grocery store tour that helps families learn strategies to shop for healthy, delicious foods on a limited budget.

Share Our Strength's "Cooking Matters at the Store" engages low-income families where they shop to teach and practice skills like how to buy fruits and vegetables on a budget, read and compare food labels, compare unit prices and identify whole grain foods. To date, nearly 18,000 participants have joined a tour in their community, and organizations serving low-income families are integrating this hands-on learning experience in the services they provide, from Head Start and WIC nutrition educators to financial literacy programs and faith-based health and wellness outreach.

Click here to register: https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/536066991

During this 1-hour webinar, co-hosted by the HHS Partnership Center and Share Our Strength, you'll learn more about "Cooking Matters at the Store," how other organizations are implementing tours in their community and how to get started.
