Whew, it's hard to believe it's already 2013! We have a lot going on right now and I wanted to quickly gather a lot of this information in one place. Here it goes:
Conference: We are putting the finishing touches on the conference now! We have a few details left, but the brochures should be available for download and mailing next week. Registration should be open by January 11 also! Stay tuned!
NEHM Office closed January 12-28: This is an exciting development, as I will be taking my first proper vacation in many years. I'm very pleased to report that my wife and I are joining others from St. Paul's in Indianapolis to do some work in Kenya. St. Paul's has developed significant parishioner relationships there through the Bridge to Kenya program and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this ministry. You can follow a daily blog about our adventures and learn more about the work we are doing at http://abridgetokenya.com.
While the office will be officially closed, our office volunteer Rachel Fox will be checking in and handling some requests. Most things, however, will be put on hold until my return.
Website Improvements: While I'm in Kenya, our web designers will be working on refreshing the NEHM website. While many of the changes will be behind the scenes improvements, one significant change will be coming: a redesign of the Resources section! We will be completely reorganizing how resources are tagged, searched and categorized. I think you are going to love it. The process should be done shortly after I return on the 28th!
- Return of monthly Health Hints! I'm thrilled to announce that we are again publishing monthly health hints to provide you with additional ideas for your ministry. Be sure you are signed up for our newsletter to receive them!
I'm looking forward to returning from Africa refreshed and with many new ideas for our ministries. I hope you all had a safe and wonderful new year's celebration. Here's to a terrific 2013!
