As an active member of Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, I was put in touch with the leaders of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and invited to speak at their press conference. I was one of six speakers; others included victims and parents of shootings, including parents from Newtown, CT and Aurora, CO.

Through deep conversation, prayer, and skill-building the event empowered our Church to address violence and reclaim our role in society as workers for nonviolence and peace.

A year after the tragic mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, national religious leaders sent a letter today to Congress, calling for urgent action to respond to the gun violence crisis in our country.
