Sunday's Epistle- "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen-" caught my attention. I had received a phone call last week from Nancy, the woman whose story of faith and recovery I thread through my book "Broken by Addiction, Blessed by God." Nancy wanted to assure me that her recent feelings of depression and suicidal thoughts had eased. When I asked her how that had happened she said, "I pictured myself sitting at God's feet. I reminded myself that I am a daughter of God. I don't have to drink or drug to ease my fears or grief. I feel safe sitting at God's feet." Nancy feels "the conviction of things not seen."
